The person behind the bags
Most brands are built by people who know how to sell things. YACHT was built by someone who first spent years learning how to make them.
Ashwani Kr Jha founded Veol E Retail Pvt Ltd and built YACHT — not from a mood board, but from a factory floor.
Where it started
Before YACHT existed as a brand, Ashwani Kr Jha was manufacturing bags professionally — executing large-scale production orders for global brands with a small, tight team. He managed the entire process himself. Raw material sourcing and finalisation. Fabric selection. Cutting. Laser embossing. Screen printing. Stitching. Quality control. Finishing. Every step of the production cycle, owned end to end.
That is not a common foundation for a brand. Most people who launch bag brands have never stood inside a factory and made a decision about the weight of a canvas or the gauge of a zipper. Ashwani Kr Jha has. Many times over.
Why YACHT exists
After years of making bags for other brands, a question became difficult to ignore: why was nobody making an honest canvas bag and selling it directly, at a fair price, without the retail markup in between?
The gap was visible. The cheap end of the market was forgettable. The expensive end was charging for a logo. The considered middle — well-made, honestly priced, sold direct — was unoccupied.
YACHT is the answer to that question.
What manufacturing experience actually means
It means knowing what a bag costs to make well — and where the temptation to cut corners lives. It means understanding why one canvas holds its structure at full load and another does not. It means knowing why duck cotton behaves differently under load than standard canvas, and when to use one over the other. It means recognising the difference between a zipper that will run smooth in three years and one that will not make it past three months.
It means that when YACHT says a bag is made well, it is not a marketing claim. It is a specification, held to by someone who knows exactly what making it well requires.
Ashwani Kr Jha and the YACHT standard
Every material decision at YACHT goes through the same filter: would someone who has spent years in a factory approve this? The canvas weight. The zipper specification. The thread count on the stitching. The density of the felt. These are not choices made from a catalogue. They are choices made by someone who knows what each option feels like under real use, over real time.
Ashwani Kr Jha built YACHT to make one thing available that the market was not offering — a bag made with genuine craft, sold without pretence, at a price that reflects what it actually took to make it. That is the standard. It does not change with seasons or trends. It is built in.
The belief behind the brand
YACHT exists because of one belief: a bag should earn its place in your life through what it is made of and how it is made — not through what it costs or whose name is on it.
That belief did not come from a brand strategy session. It came from years of being on the manufacturing side — knowing what things actually cost to make, and watching how far most brands stray from that honesty when they set a price.
That is what YACHT is built to correct.
